We Love New York! Or....not.

We went to a show in a place called Freeport yesterday. We drove there in the rain Friday night with Kathy and two cats named Fiona and Fluffernutter, who had good toys that we tried to steal last week in Plymouth Meeting. (Actually, that was just me; maddie had nothing to do with it. Maddie never has anything to do with anything.)

The show was one day so in the morning mommy got up and packed everything in the room and we both hid under the bed because that seemed like a fun thing to do. Mommy left for a few minutes and a strange lady came in! We stayed under the bed and waited for mommy to come back. Suddenly we heard yelling. Mommy was yelling at this lady in the room because she left the door open and mommy was screaming at her to GET OUT, and she told the lady that if we got outside there would be BIG TROUBLE!!!! I guess it's good that we were big weenies and hid under the bed instead of trying to make a break for it. I thought about it for a second but I knew Maddie would be a chicken. Mommy made the lady leave, and went right under the bed, picked me up and I went in the carrier. Then she couldn't find maddie, and that was scary! She got out some food, which wasn't fair because I was already in the carrier, and maddie is so dumb, she went running right over, so mommy picked her up and put her in with me so I was squished.

Then we went to the show in a loud hall. We were in our usual dumb show cage with the hammoc and the fleecy bed. We saw all the judges and nobody got ANY ribbons. I mean NOBODY except Kathy did have one pretty purple one for Fiona.

Now that Maddie is a big deal GRAND PREMIER, she is getting all the brown ribbons. I got all the purple ones but they did not come with any POINTS and I really need POINTS. I think I should borrow some of Maddie's. I remembered the judge in the first ring, he gave me POINTS in Binghamton but this time he gave Maddie the brown ribbon and he finaled her. Then so did the judge in ring 2 and mommy told a funny story about that.

Maddie was in the ring all by herself so mommy went over to keep her company. The judge came back and said "didn't they call a final in another ring" and Mommy said they did, so the judge asked "is this cat in the final" meaning Maddie, and mommy said no. And the juge asked, "AND WHY NOT?" The real answer was "I guess because that judge was dumb" but that isn't what mommy said, she just said she didn't know. So that judge would have given maddie a ribbon too, if they had ribbons.

Then there was the judge in ring 3. It was sunny in his ring and mommy liked that. He took me out first and talked about how pretty I was, and he looked at me all over, moved my fur around, looked at my face and my eyes and I guess I did look just stunning in the nice bright sun. Then he took Maddie out and he didn't say anything about her so I thought maybe he liked me better, and so did Mommy. But then he put the brown ribbon on Maddie's cage. I bet we both looked absolutely beautiful in that sunlight, because we are so pretty, how could anybody resist our glowing blue selves!

Then it was time for his final and the clerk called Maddie's number! So Mommy and all her friends went and sat in the sun and he did his final and Maddie was not 10th, and then she was not 9th, and mommy said ok, maybe she could be 7th, and then she was not that, or 6th, and mommy said wow, well she can be anything in the top 5, and she was 4th! So she got a lot of the other kind of points and maybe someday she will get the ribbons to go with them!

Then we had to go home, and we were tired so we slept, except Maddie must have been in a weird mood because she slept in the litterbox.

Today mommy got the counts from last week and it turned out there were 30 in premiership when Maddie got a ribbon in the last ring so she got more of the other kind of points! I guess that's good. I want some points.
